About the Role

Job Title: Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities:

Manage large amounts of incoming calls and emails.
Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction.
Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication.
Provide accurate, valid, and complete information by using the right methods/tools.
Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution.
Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts, and file documents.
Follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies.
Take the extra mile to engage customers.
Skills/Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
Proven customer support experience or experience as a client service representative.
Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening.
Familiarity with CRM systems and practices.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Patience in dealing with confused or irate customers.
Experience with financial transactions and payment processing.

Requirements

  • Education:

    1. High School Diploma or equivalent. Some companies may prefer a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, or a related field.

    Experience:

    1. Previous experience in a customer service role is typically preferred. The length of experience required may vary depending on the company.

    Skills:

    1. Excellent communication skills: Customer Service Representatives need to be able to communicate effectively with customers, including explaining complex information in a clear and simple way.

    2. Problem-solving skills: Ability to handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.

    3. Computer literacy: Familiarity with using customer relationship management (CRM) software and other standard office software like Microsoft Office. Basic data entry and typing skills are also important.

    4. Listening skills: It's important to understand the needs and concerns of the customer, which requires good listening skills.

    5. Patience: Dealing with frustrated or upset customers requires a lot of patience and understanding.

    Other Requirements:

    1. Some companies may require Customer Service Representatives to work in shifts, as customer service may need to be provided outside of typical business hours.

    2. In a role like this, language skills can also be very valuable. Being bilingual or multilingual can be a significant asset in customer service.
